Significance-
I chose this book, because when I read the blurb, I thought that this book was going to be filled with values and adventure. This book is valuable, because it shows a mother's true love for her child. It shows how much a mother is willing to risk and give in to save her child and her family. This piece is worth caring for, because it helps children appriciate their parents much more. This book teaches us the true meaning of herosim, family, courage, determination, strength, love, and family.
Perspective-
After reading this book, I would want readers to walk away with more appriciation for their family, especially their parents. I would want readers to think of Mrs. Frisby's sacrfices as like the sacrifices that their parents have do for them.
My personal thoughts didnt really affect my enterpretation of this piece. This piece was basically based on adventure, and mothers doing everything they can for their children. Since I havent really had any adventures in my life, and since I am obviously not a mother, I wouldnt really have any idea on what mothers go through. Therefore, I never really had any personal thoughts regarding this matter. However, now that I have read the book, I know have any idea of what mothers go through.
Evidence-
I think that argument thats being made is that if you really love someone, you'll do anything and everything for that person, and you'll try your hardest to make the impossible happen, just like in Mrs. Frisby's case. If you think about, the situation that Mrs. Frisby was in seemed like a hopeless case.
Mrs. Frisby is a widowed mom with several children, and they are in a life and death situation. She and her family must move into the meadows, out of the garden before Mr. Fitzgibbon's tractor comes rumbling through. Plus, Mrs. Frisby's son Timothy, is struggling through pneumonia, making it hard for them to move if the tractor comes too early. Being a family of helpless field mice, Mrs. Frisby found it hard to fight through the situation.
However, instead of Mrs. Frisby sitting at her home, grieving about her situation, she worked hard to find a way to save her family. She struggled, she strived, and she succeeded.
I know this is fact, not opinion, because the book had always been about doing something for a loved one. Its always been about Mrs. Frisby thinking of what's best for her family. There was never a time where Mrs. Frisby thought about herself. She dedicated everything she did to her family.
Connection-
This relates to the real world, because anyone would do anything for their loved ones, just like Mrs. Frisby did. They'd do everything to save and to get nothing but the best for their families. Also, just like Mrs. Frisby's deeds revealed her genuine love for her family, the same thing happens to us when we do good deeds for our family. For every good action that we show and do for the important people in our lives, it shows how much love and care we have for them.
Supposition-
If I hadnt read this book, I probably wouldnt appriciate my parents the way that I do now. This book had broadened my mind, and made me appriciate every little good deed/action that my parents show and do.

Missing May by Cynthia Rylant
Signifcance-
I chose this book, because when I read the blurb, to me it seemed like a touching story, just like the previous books that I have read: I have always enjoyed these type of books. This piece is valuable, because it puts you into the shoes of people who have just lost a loved one. This piece/these events are worth caring for, because it shows you that no matter how hard life gets, there's still always a reason for livng. This books gives us hope to carry on, and it teaches us that even if a loved one has already passed, they will still always be by our side, watching over us.
Perspective-
After reading this book, I would want other readers to walk away with hope, and possibly a new reason for living. I would want the readers to use the lessons that they have learned in this book and apply it to their own, personal lives.
My personal thoughts didn't really affect my enterpretation of this piece, because I have never really given any thought on this kind of stuff. But since I read the book, I now know what my personal beliefs are regarding this matter.
Evidence-
I think the arugement that's being made is that just because someone has already passed, it doesn't mean that they're forever gone in our lives. They are still alive in many little ways. It's just that in Ob and Summer's case, they chose to grieve about everything, instead of thinking about those little things that make May still alive. But once Cletus, a friend of Summer's, came and talked to Ob and Summer about a person that can help them "contact" May's spirit, they began to hope, and step by step they began living their lives again.
I know this is fact, not opinion, because at several occasions in the book, the author kept on mentioning little things that had to do with May. The author continuously tried to show May's spirit through little things, like the wind, and things that are significant to the 3 of them(Ob, Summer, and May.) At the end, each little thing somewhat how led them back to May, and May, back to them.
Connection-
This connects to the real world, because there are many people in this world, like Ob and Summer, who stop living their lives, because a loved one was lost; they begin to lose hope on everything. But as help comes along, they begin to put themselves back together, one step at a time, until they begin to have faith and hope once again. They get "renewed" personalities, and their lives are in a way, back to normal again, and it's because they chose to accept the help that came their way.
Supposition-
If I hadn't read this book, I still would probably have the same enterpretation as everyone else; that once a person is gone, that person is gone forever, and there will be no reason for living.
Due the fact that Ob and Summer have moved on, I think that they will continue on with their lives as strong individuals with the spirit of May along with them, prepared for whatever may come their way.
